Hello,
I am switching my internet service from Comcast Cable to ATT DSL can anyone tell me the less expensive type of store bought modem/Router that I will need and that is compatiable with ATT DSL I Hoping that I can purchase it from Wamart, Best Buy or Radio Shack.

I would look for one used on craigslist or ebay; you can find them as low as $10. Be sure it includes the yellow cable that is slightly larger than the phone line connector. I use the speedstream 5100, but motorola and other brands are available. Be sure it's DSL and not cable. Mine has five indicator lights, including "internet". I have a spare one without the internet light, and it has to be set manually under tools "internet options" in windows.

I have the ATT dsl modem and if you just need it to surf the web that is suitable you can get it with a phone for 19.99 a month and you can have a phone line for 16.00 a month.
