Hello,

I am looking for PSU to power up the system, which I am going to buy soon. The config might be:

Processor - core i7 2600K ( Will oc to 4.5~5.00)
Mobo - Asus P8P67 Pro / Maximus IV
HDD - 1TB WD SATA 3 7200 RPM
G.Card - HD 6950 2GB( will oc to 6970, unlock )
Might add :
A sound card

Monitor - PX 2370 Samsung 23" LED

Was thinking of getting CM GX550 - 550W PSU. Will this powerup the above mentioned config without a problem?
(I know of the problems in Current Cougar Point mobos, and I wont be using SATA II, too)

If you overclock and get that video card to unlock to 6970, then your system will likely be pushing 550w. I have never had any problems with Cooler Master power supplies other than the fact they are about 100w over rated. So if it says 550w, that is peak, not continuous. You would be best to get something 650w. If you must choose Cooler Master, I would suggest 700-800w to be safe. If you choose Corsair, Seasonic, or Antec... 600-650w with 80+ rating would be great for your system. The power supply is one of the most important parts of the computer. Don't be cheap with the PSU after you spend so much money on a good board and CPU.
