250 mm fan guard?

Hi,

I have a 250 mm case fan mounted on the outside of my computer blowing in and I was wondering if anyone makes a guard for the blades. I have a 3 year old son and I don't want him to stick his fingers in there when I'm not looking. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Tom's Hardware!

Case fans are designed to operate inside the case and guards are not provided for this. I do understand what you are doing and reasons for mounting the fan outside the case.

Get yourself some wire mesh with no more than 1/8" openings and securely fasten this to the fan's exposed portion. The leading edges of the fans are sharp. On one occasion I cut my finger deep because I stuck my finger inside a running computer with the case side open.
