Keyboard works at login but not after

Hi,
I have HP dv6000 laptop and I can use my keyboard to enter password on login screen but once logged in the laptop keyboard does not respond.
I tried removing the battery for few minutes and putting it back but that does not help. I tried using external usb keyboard but that also does not work.
I am running out of ideas. If someone has any more suggestion I will really appreciate any feedback.
