Computer to tv connection

I have a NVidia G force 7600 GT graphics card. I hooked up a vga cable from my computer to my Samsung LCD tv. I got a computer picture on my tv but then it said searching for signal and lost picture on tv and moniitor. Can someone help me to get this connection to work? Thanks

First make sure you refresh is set to 60hz, Then make sure the computer resolution matches that of the TV.
