Secondary Drive Swap

I feel like I should know the answer to this question but I don't. If I buy a new Samsung 840 Pro SSD, can I literally copy and paste everything from the SSD set as my D: drive to the Samsung and still have all the programs work as they do now. Windows is NOT installed on this drive. The only thing on my D: drive is MS Office and a few games. Thanks for the help.
