PSU help please

Hello my PSU just went out and I need some advice on buying a new one.

I built this system about 3-4 years ago.
My System:
MB. Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 REV. 1
MEM. Gskill 2gb PC2-6400 (x2)
CPU. Intel Dual Core 2.4 E6600
VC. EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS
HD. Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 500gb
Wester Digital Caviar SE WD800JD 80gb (x2)
Case. Cooler Master CM Stacker 810 ATX

I had a Thermaltake PSU 850W (This was aparently overkill brought on by my "new build" stupidity). But it took a crap, I checked with the paperclip method.
I am willing to pay around $100 if I have to, money is a little tight but I and my wife need this pc working. I am mostly concerned with functionality (if its a little more power then I need thats ok) and reliability, if I need to pay more for something thats going to last thats fine with me.

I would appreciate help and advice.

  1. You don't need anything above a quality 300W PSU. Check out Antec and Corsair on newegg. Earthwatts 380 is a good choice.
  2. Thanks for the help. I am going to try the Earthwatts 380.
  3. For an 8800GTS an EA380 is a little tight, i would check out the EA500 or EA500D, or the Corsair 500CX, the 8800GTS isnt a super low powered card like a 5670 or 4670.
  4. Earthwatts 380 will run a GTX 560/460, neither of which he plans to get.
