Should i bother upgrading RAM

i currently have a HP slimline and was wondering weather its worth up grading RAM from 3gb to 8gb.
i have 64 bit OS will there be any problems with installing new RAM?

Unless you have a need for more RAM it's probably not worth the effort as RAM just allows you to run more apps concurrently or use large apps like spreadsheets, CAD, do video editing, etc.

well im gona build a new pc in the near future and il use the new ram for that and re install the old ram

More RAM (as long as it's compatible) never hurts - check the mobo specs to make sure it can support more than 4 GB.

how do i check the mobo's capacity for ram?

Run speccy and find the model number then get the specs from the foxcon website.

lame HP says the mobo only accepts a max of 2gb modules.
