well I have finally decided to build my own system. This is my first time doing this and just wanted to run it by the forum, to make sure I havent made any glaring mistakes or if there is anything else I need or if anyone has any better suggestions. The PC will be used for photo editing and some gaming.

Here are the specs:

Processor: INTEL Core i7-950 - 3.06 GHz - 8 MB L3 Cache - LGA 1366 Socket
Motherboard:GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R - 1366 Socket - X58 - ATX Chipset (GAX58AU3R)
Memory: KINGSTON 4 x 2 GB DDR3-1333 PC3-10600 CL9 HyperX blu PC Memories (KHX1333C9D3B1K2/4G)
Harddisk: 2 x SAMSUNG SpinPoint F3 HD103SJ Hard Drive - 1 TB - 32 MB - 7200 rpm - SATA-300
Graphics: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 Vapor-X - 1 GB GDDR5 - PCI-Express 2.0 Version OC (11163-05-20R )
Case: ANTEC Sonata III with 500w power supply.

Thanks for your help,

looks ok so far, you might consider getting a gtx 460 if you can swing the price difference

Switch out the ram to 3 sticks, so you can take advantage of the 1366 triple channel memory. 3x2gb is plenty

Thanks for the help so far guys. Could someone give me a recommendation for memory for the i7 950 and GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R combination. I have been reading a lot about this. Intel recommends one thing and Gigabyte recommends another. My head is now officially twisted.
