Hello,
I want to upgrade intel e6600 core 2 duo to faster cpu on me conroe board, any suggestions other than replace my MB?

Depends on your budget. If price is not that much of an issue then purchase the Quad Q9650: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115130&cm_re=lga_775-_-19-115-130-_-Product

If price is of concern then stick with something like the Quad Q8400: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115057&cm_re=lga_775-_-19-115-057-_-Product

But in all reality, the LGA 775 series is way outdated and doesn't compare to Intels newer lines.

If you do decide to purchase a new CPU then make sure your update your bios otherwise your mobo may not recognize your new CPU
