Hi I'm building a Powerful Editing Machine (ONLY FOR VIDEO EDITING)

I am having trouble deciding if I need a seperate SCRATCH DISC or not.
I have 4 possible set ups, please advise me on what is best thanks.

Set Up 1
120GB--SSD--OS+Programs
60GB--SSD--SCRATCH DISC
240GB--SSD--Current Project and Commonly Used Files
6TB (4TB) RAID 5 Storage

Set Up 2
120GB--SSD--OS+SCRATCH DISC
240GB--SSD--Current Project, Commonly Used Files and Programs.
6TB (4TB) RAID 5 Storage

Set Up 3
120GB--SSD--OS+Programs
240GB--SSD--Current Project, Commonly Used Files and SCRATCH DISC
6TB (4TB) RAID 5 Storage

Set Up 4
60GB--SSD--OS
60GB--SSD--SCRATCH DISC
240GB--SSD--Current Project, Commonly Used Files and Programs.

Please Note Current Projects require 140GB+ of storage.

I've probally haven't mentioned the best solution so please advise me. I have around 550-600 at my disposal for this part of the build but less is much better :D

Thanks in Advance
Any advice is greatly appreciated. :)

You dont mention the editing software you use; not all use a scratch disk. Adobe does and it does make a difference - setup1 is the recommended.

I'm not sure what you mean by 6tb(4tb) on the raid 5 storage. Do you mean 6 1tb drives in raid 5 ? that would be 5 in raid5 with 1spare which is what I hope you mean as that should keep up with the ssd source.

os, source, scratch, and destination is recommended to all be seperate drives at minumum. Some users suggest seperating the os and programs into seperate drives also. I find that this does not speed up my editing at all.

Thanks for replying, I don't know fully If my current software really needs it.
I'm editing on Vegas Pro 11 at the moment, but I may change.

What I mean by "6TB (4TB) RAID 5 Storage" is 3x2TB drives = 6TB. Then I raid 5 them making 4TB. This is probally not the best solution but it is cheap for a lot of storage which will survive if a drive fails. This is used to store completed films.
Thanks For your help.
