hi,
I have recently purchased a gt 220.
I run it on a dell optiplex 760 (MT)
windows xp
intel core2duo E8400
4GB memory
Dell OM858N Mainboard

At the moment i have Dx9 on xp platform.
my card is compatible with Dx10.1.
If i switch to Windows7 and run Dx10.1, will it significantly improve my graphics.

for e.g. being able to run cod mw2 on high setting, fallout 3 on high settings, etc...

please help,
thank you in advance.

No. In fact, games generally run slower in DX 10.0/10.1 than DX 9 if they were built with DX 9 in mind. Yes DX11 generally allows for better lighting, shadow, and other effects, but honestly a GT 220 is a bit to slow to allow you to appreciate them.

I would say its not worth it, your GPU isnt powerfull enough to take advantage of a higher DX version properly.

Because it supports dx10 and the low end 200 series supports dx10.1
What's great is, it can run games with dx10.1 but at a low resolution and lower setting.
