I would like to use a Intel i3 CPU. All the specs I read about it say that it requires a LGA 1156 socket. However, my motherboard has a LGA 1155 socket. Are they equivalent? Will the i3 CPU work?

Solution

Hi Jim54 :hello: ...There will be coming out soon, but I do not know when the equivalent of the core i3 cpu for the LGA 1155 P67 will be out ;) ...Go to the Intel Main Page Home site & look for processors & go for the core i3,but with the core i3 2000 number range & you will see where it says date of arrival that it is yet to be announced...Also while you are at the Intel site, you can check the specs of the core i3's for LGA 1155 socket pinset number processors...They will be dual core & have hyperthreading also, but will not have as...

any of the new sandy bridge processors...the processor will depend on what you plan on doing with the computer...for gaming, I would definitely say the i5-2500k..its priced at $230 and you get great bang for your buck..if your going to be doing anything that requires more resources/threading (photoshop/editing) then the i7 2600k. The two processors I mentioned are unlocked, meaning you could overclock it to get great performance. However, if your not into overclocking, get either the 15 2500 or 17 2600.
