Update bios Dell Dimension 8300 General Hardware Questions

How do I update bios on Dell Dimension 8300 purchased in 2002 or 3? I want to upgrade processor from 2.8GHz,512KB to 3.4GHz, 1MB.

The only BIOS upgrade that is likely to work is one provided by Dell. Check their website. If there's no new BIOS - and there probably isn't - I don't know of any way that won't possibly brick your motherboard.

Your current BIOS may support a new processor (if you haven't checked). And there's probably no need for a new BIOS to upgrade memory.

After loads of Googling, I found the following for my Dimension 8300.
Final Windows is Windows 7 (you can’t go higher or several drivers won’t work).
Final BIOS is A07 but not just any old A07 it has to be - D8300A07
