I have a CS5111 with 4GB RAM. It currently has 2x2GB, but I would like to put 8GB in, and would purchase 4x4GB. But, it says max memory is 4GB. Will 8GB work?
The memory specs are:
DDR2
PC2-6400
800 Mhz
The motherboard is:
ASUSTek
P5K3L-ASUS-S1-P5G35

why do you need 8gb for OP?

that laptops maximum supported ram is 4gb so it cant take more than 4gb.

I need 8GB so I can run a VMWare image which requires 6GB. It is not a laptop, and I'm not totally sure if the max is 4GB. Someone on another board seemed to think it may take two 4GB modules, since it takes two 2GB modules now.
