November excitement-GT430, HD6870, cheap GTX460's, GTX485

It looks like things are going to get interesting in November.

Besides the volume availability of the AMD HD6870, Nvidia will counter with price drops on the GTX460 768mb models, and by debuting its first budget level Fermi card, the GT430.

I also think it is likely we will see the full 512 core GTX485 with a much improved reference cooler.

As long as the real card isn't released yet, we don't know the exact result for each card...

If the GTX 485 is as much of an upgrade from the GTX 480 as the GTX 285 was from the GTX 280, I'd be looking forward to it. Of course, I'll be waiting to see what AMD can offer with the new generation of cards first.

I will wait until the smoke settles then decide. My 5770 and old faithful 8800GTX ACS3 cards are doing just fine for now...

Well so long the fanboys are not as rabid as they are now. The ATI fanboys are much more rabid then they have been over the last 4 years or so. I hate fanboys.

No need to upgrade unless my HD 5850 in my primary PC dies, or if my GeForce 9600 GT dies in my HTPC.
