does anyone know roughly how many k/sec upload speed u need per player to
host a server from home. i have 3Mbit down, 300kbit up cable. how many
players roughly??

The upload speed is what matters in this case. With 300kbit, you're
looking at 6 players max, maybe only 5.

There are also other issues with running a game server on a home cable
connection. It is probably against the rules of the agreement you signed
when you got the service to run a server like that.

Setting your MaxInternetClientRate=5000 in the UT2004 ini file
should allow you to enjoy 5-6 clients including you. Leaving you
a little left over.
