So, a few days back a power supply exploded on my computer. No big deal I have multiple powersupplys. Now the powersupply happened to fry my hard drive as well.....no big deal I had one of the exact same model that was blank so I swapped out the control boards and presto my harddrive works again.
Now I don't trust the harddrive I fixed....if it's burn out once even with a new control board it can't take forever for it to burn out again...so I want to move all of my data from the hard drive I fixed to a completely new hard drive.
Some problems I forsee
1- The hard drive I fixed booted from API or something, The new hard drive I'm putting in will boot from SATA
2- I only have 1 external Hard drive carrier....so I can't just just go to hard drive to hard drive.....I will have to first transfer all the data onto another computer then transfer it to the new Hard drive.
(Can I just hook up the new hard drive I have to my computer and transfer it without using the external hard drive carrrier?)
3- I have no clue what to do in this situation help would be appreciated?
