I am having problems installing the asus drw-41B1st dvd burner. My motherboard is the 6150bk8mc. Been working fine for years. My hard drive was using one my 4 SATA connections and my DVD burner was using the PATA connection. No problems. New drive is SATA. Doesn't read or write. Try Microsoft fix it and came up with this.
"The selected drive is not capable or writing, if you have several CD..."
Try to install firmware and ran into this:
"No matched driver detected ! This utility is only for ASUS DRW-24B1ST drive.
Detected drives
0-2-0-0 E:ASUS DRW-24B1ST c 1.05"
I have bought an additional drive thinking that was the problem. Same errors. Switched sata cables. Switched positon on mobo. No changes.
I believe I deleted the upper and lower filters, when I had the first one installed. Shows up in device manager. I have deleted and restarted the computer.
Any ideas?
