I am upgrading my laptop, replacing the hdd with an ssd and then replacing my optical drive with a caddy that will hold the hdd. How do I get my os on to the ssd. I dont have an installation disk for windows 7
You will need to use cloning software, often included with the SSD, and clone the HDD to the SSD, Then install the SSD in place of the HDD and boot back up. When windows loads you can make the recommended changes to Optimize Windows.

I though cloning would mess up the partition alignment?
