Q9650 Vs X4 965 BE

Which is faster assuming same video card hard drive memory, it looks like passmark has the Old Q9650 as edging out the BE by a little bit but wanted to see what you thought?

The Q6950 is as much as 20% faster in some cases. It is the fastest overall. But if you're building a new system, I would definately recommend getting a newer processor like an i5 or i7.

That is comparing AM2+ X4 940! Not the AM3 965BE which gains from DDR3 support and increased clock speed!

I apologize for that. I should have read the review closer. This review shows the processors trading blows and concludes that the AMD processor is slightly better. As the second review points out, the Intel may be able to overtake the AMD when both are overclocked. I still maintain the position that I wouldn't build a new rig with either of them though.
