hi

can someone describe DTP

what is need for?? what does it do?

can i overclock it? do i need to consider this when overclocking?

Thermal Design Properties! It is the heat that is created by using the CPU (from it using electricity). When you overclock the CPU the TDP goes up because it is working harder and using more electricity, therefore in many cases the std cooler shipped with the CPU is no longer enough and an aftermarket cooler that can dissipate more heat required.

Thermal Design Power is a measurement of how much electricity a processor can use. The more electricity a processor can use, the more heat it produces.

You need to consider it when overclocking because the higher the TDP, the better the cooler you need to keep it within acceptable temperatures.

Don't put too much stock in published TDP's. There is no standardized test method used to collect them, they are a reference for OEM's for max expected power consumption.
They are generally determined once for a family of chips, although the lower clocked ones will use less power. Look for actual benchmarks of power consumption (heat) produced in the types of applications you will be performing, available on this and many other sites.
