Do I have to do anything special for these gfx cards to transmit audio via hdmi?

Just install the drivers that come with the cards and enable it in sound properties besides that no nothing special is needed fpr sound to work via HDMI.

I may be wrong but I do recall having to change one or two settings in the Nvidia driver in order to enable HDMI audio. Pretty painless and no big deal.
