Recommended memory for i7-2600?

I'm getting ready for a new computer build and have settled on i7-2600 and ASUS P8P67. I have no plans to overclock (long story). I see that the integrated memory controller for the 2600 is 'Dual Channel DDR3-1066/1333' but the P8P67 will take up to DDR3-1600 without overclocking. What speed of DDR3 does the forum recommend? Will there be any performance increase by using DDR-1600 vs. DDR3-1333? The price difference between the two memory modules doesn't bother me but I don't want to get something that I don't need.

1333 Dual Channel. Get an 8GB (2x4) set from either GSkill or Corsair. They are the better intel brands to go with.

what do you use it for?

Computer is to be used for gaming (BF3, Crysis 2, Dragon Age 2, etc) and internet use.

yeah...1333 speed is plenty, as well as 8Gb is recommended. Good Luck!
