How to transfer files from toshiba at100 to external hard drive

I want to move files from my Toshiba AT100 to an external hard drive (Seagate) however when plugged into the USB port the tablet does not recognise the addition. Is it simply the lack of power that makes the AT100 unable to see the HD or do i need to download a patch, app to be able to read it?

USB flash- or USB hard drives are support by the Toshiba Tablet AT100. But the AT100 does only supports FAT12/16/32/exFAT format for USB memory and USB hard drives. Other file formats such as NTFS is not supported.

Also, some external drives do require more power that the usb port can supply. Please make sure to use any power adapters that came with your external drive.
