I'd like to add an additional graphic card and add 3 more 24" monitors to my setup to do some day traiding. Ie. I dont need the latest and quickest card there is.

I can either add a similar card to the one I own, or preferrably upgrade to 2new/used graphic cards. maybe something little bit quicker...

Can you make a recommendation?
My card is 4y old.

my setup:

* DELL 2405FPW 24" Widescreen LCD
* Coolermaster Wavemaster Yellow TAC-T01
* Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe nForce4 SLi X16 (Socket 939) PCI-Express
* AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ (Socket 939) Toledo; 2.2GHz x 1MB L2 Cache
* BFG GeForce 7800 GT OC 256MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)
* 4 x 1GB Corsair TwinX PC3200 DDR400 Dual Channel Kit (TWINX20483200C2PT)
* 2 x WD Caviar 250GB 2500KS SATA-II 16MB 7200rpm
* 2 x WD Caviar 1TB SATA-II 16MB 7200rpm
* Plextor PX-716AL Dual Layer Slot Loading 16x4x DVD±RW
* 1.44Mb Sony Black Floppy Disk Drive
* Logitech diNovo Cordless Desktop
* Corsair CMPSU 550VX 80Plus

Thing is dude, im not 100% sure about this, but I think more or less the best graphics cards you can buy can host 3 maximum.
I read that the 7800 model has problems dualing moniters, youll probably have to google yourself, but you can dual two 8800's and it should be fine.
But you probably wont be able to get four moniters up, with dual 7800's. and you can only dual or 3way cards if they are the same model.

So you can either try your luck and get another 7800, and have two moniters each but im not to sure if it will work, or get dual 8xxx cards.
Or you could go with ati's and get dual 4850's or 5570's if you want dx11

Edit : You may even need a 650w PSU to dual. Again, youll need to do some research yourself so you can get something within your budget.

I just bought a new video card for the same purpose. CD says uninstall old card before installing new. I'm hoping that I can reinstall the old one later to run both cards simultaneously but now i find the card i bought won't even work with my mobo.

ok, so switching to ATI and getting 4850 or 5570 is not a problem with my SLi mobo?

Sorry for the wait.

Now, what you want is two identical cards. 100% identical, this isnt really the case with ati's but to keep it simple i'd do that.

All you need are two 4850's or 5550's if you want dx 11.
Then you godda check if your psu will be able to handle.
and if you wanna go with nvidia, get two 8600's / two 9500's

Simplez :)
