Virtualization of Technology

Hi Friends,

I have Dell Vostro 420, Intel core2quad processor, I installed Windows7 on my machine.
I need to enable Hardware virtualization Technology under BIOS settings.
I didn't see this option under BIOS Settings. Can anybody help to figure out this issue.

Thanks,

  1. If your Dell has a Q8200 in it there is no support for Virtualization on that processor. Q8300 only certain SSpec models have it, Q8400 has it standard and all Q9xxx have Virtualization. Also if it has a Q6xxx you have Virtualization.

Why Intel decided to disable this feature on the Q8200 and Q8300 is beyond me. I gues they figured since it was a budget chip they didn't need it I guess. Now if you have the Q8200 which a lot of Dells do you can still run virtual machines they just won't be as fast as it would be on a CPU that has Virtualization.
