Will a pci-ex1 card fit a m2n-mx se plus motherboard

Hello,
I just purchased a sata s6m2 v1.0 pci express x1 interface gen 2.

Is this compatible for my mb as I only have the pci express slot which is bigger than the cards profile.

It should work in the X16 slot but the slot is gen 1.x so possible reduced speed.

well its not. when i put the card in and turn it on, the pc shows power/fan runs but after 5-6 seconds, it powers down. nothing shows on screen. remove card from pcie slot and pc boots normally.

Possible something wrong with card!

Assuming you used the (black) PCIe slot then often SATA and RAID Cards can have compatibly issues. Unfortunately, I've sure had my fair share - ass-u-ming they would work.

Try BIOS version Version 0602 and if that fails then 'try' a PCI 'SATA' Card -> http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007531%20600022015&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=REVIEWS&PageSize=20 same compatibility issues may apply.

Unfortunately, ECS does NOT have a MOBO compatibly list.

I think i tried just about everything possible. i got ver 0602 bios, no change. the card works in other pc's but not mine. I changed to raid and the same. starts up and shuts down after 4-6 seconds. nothing shows on the screen. I have checked previous versions of this bios and nothing about this card or achi mode available. Looks like I am stumped. Don't know what else to do with it. it is too light to become a paper weight ))
