dual GTX 460 in SLI is the faster then a single ATI 5870 and cheaper according to your prices. the 2GB version is simply a gimmick so I would skip that. what's with the spoilers though? why would you want to hide the information? :heink:

thanks thats just what i was looking for,

re: the spoilers, lol, on other forums the spoiler is viewed as just the word and when you click, it expands the space revealing the info... and i did it in the interest of saving space. However the spoiler tags function slightly differently in tom's.....as i know now.

Considering the costs, the 5870 isn't a horrible deal however, you get performance enough to satisfy 1080p for £130 less.

your right but ive been reading other forums and apparently 1920x1200 is better for gaming over 1920x1080,
so im leaning for the higher res.
only prolem is x1200 monitors are more xpensive.

How? There not much difference except 1080P can watch movie with less letterboxing.

How much is a 260?
I wouldn't suggest it, the 260 is quite old, scales pretty bad in SLI also.

You'd rather get 2 450s, a 470, a 5850/70 or go the single 460 then SLI route.

sorry i meant single 460 then sli

A 5870 is less powerful than SLI 460s, but will significantly more efficient and generate less heat and give you more air flow.

At 1080p, unless you are building a rig for crysis 2 at full settings, 5870 will be just fine :p

if it runs crysis 2 at full graphics it will handle any other games on full for a while,

thats good to know, im definit on the 460 sli now

ORRRR Go for a GTX470 and wait untill you can afford another GTX470. If your in the UK, a GTX470 is only like £20 more than the GTX460 and preforms better aswell.

Try Ebuyer.com or overclockers.co.uk. Both decent sites with decent prices.
