Xfx 750w psu faulty?

hi guys

my brother currently has the setup listed below

antec 600
x4 phenom ii b50 at 3.1
asus m4a79 evo 790fx
4gb of crucial balistics 1333mhz
2x powercolour 4890 pcs+ in xfire
creative xfi extreme gamer sound card
xfx 750w psu easy rail

ok guys here is the situation my brother has a probem where his pc will be on for hours then his pc just powers off instantly. the green ligh on the motherboard is still on and the pc then start up fine and posts. i origionaly thought that his xfx psu might have faulty so i have tried his psu in my system for two weeks and it has been rock solid howeer i do have less hardware than him , i am running out of ideas on what the problerm can be.

any help or ideas are very much apriciated

nothing in my system is overcloked atm so im unsure what you mean.

And to add to DaDiggles post if it is going into standby and the jumper on the motherboard for the USB ports is not moved to supply the 5volt standby power to the ports it will not wake and just restart instead of just waking up.

I had this same problem with a different ASUS board before.

thanks for your replies guys the help is very much appriciated i will try unplugging the usb ports for now and see if this helps
