2x2gb ddr3 ram
1tb hdd
ati 5850

hw much watt do i need?
Hw r da PSU's manufactured by Asus nd Gigabyte?

da psu brands u mentioned on ur 2nd reply r not available on my country. We have gigabyte,asus,valuetop nd thermaltake. But thermaltakes r overpriced.

500w will be fine as long as it is a quality brand. I have no idea about the quality of Asus or Gigabyte power supplies. Go for the one with the highest 12v amps and best warranty.

the only asus psu ive ever seen was made by bestec. and while some gigabyte power supplies are good,some suck.

It's difficult to choose a quality unit from either Gigabyte or Thermaltake due to the fact that some units are good and some are terrible.
Gigabyte ODIN Plus and GT are good units the Odin and Odin Superb are not.
Thermaltake Toughpower XT are good do not buy a TR2 they aren't good.

The OEM's for ASUS' power supplies are AcBel Polytech, Bestec, Delta Electronics and Enertronix.

The OEM's for Gigabytes power supplies are AcBel Polytech, CWT and FSP.

The quality of components varies depending on the model series. In general a value series will use cheaper, less reliable components in its manufacturing. High-end series will use high quality components and are better able to deliver their claimed wattage or more.

If you specify the makes and models available to you that will be more useful in helping you make your decision.

i dont hve ne idea abt da asus nd gigabyte models. But according 2 me da thermaltake TR2 RX550 seemed good. But as i said thrmltake r 2 xpensive,thats y i would like 2 go 4 alternatives
