CORE i5 760 VS CORE i5 2500

Both processors are extremely fast, especially if you overclock. While you won't notice much of a difference in those applications you listed, waiting a week for a significantly faster processor would probably be the best choice to make your computer last as long as possible.

Best solution

If you absolutely must have the system now, get the 760.

If you can wait, do so. The Sandy Bridge processors are worth it, even when running at stock speeds. They pummel everything except the 980X/990X in every application and game.

Would I notice any difference in these two processors using AutoCad, PhotoShop, or surfing?

I had a computer ordered with the 2500, but they were recalled. The same computer with the 760 costs the same.

I just don't know if it's worth waiting for the 2500 to ship.

Thank you both. I'll wait.
