Hello,

I plan on making a new build next summer, so I've already started to shop for the components I want.
That way, when I will actually buy them, their prices will have droped significantly (or so I hope !!!).

So I would like your opinion, as this is my first real build (where I start with nothing).
I'm quite knowledgeable in computer/electonics, but no theoric knowledge can replace actual experience.
Also, if you think one of the components I've chosen is bad, please tell why you think so, and if possible, provide an alternative to it.

As a side note, on the Cooler Master HAF X and on the Corsair H70, I plan on replacing all retail fans. I will also modify the Megaflow fans so that the LEDs can be controlled by the switch that is present on the HAF X.

***I've already bought the Cooler Master HAF X and the Corsair Professional Series Gold AX1200 Power Supply***

considering summer would be few months away, i think its completely a bad idea, till then there will be newer GPU's, CPU's, MOBO's etc so would u buy the old generation components then. my advice would be to start thinking about components when u r about ready to buy them.

Peace !!

That is exactly why I want to wait ! So I won't pay a big premium for the new generation of components. For example, if the GTX 560 FTW is released in January for the price of 400-450$, then during summer the price will have dropped a bit, maybe to 325-375$. But the GTX 460 I want is presently at 250$. During summer, it might drop to 150-200$, which would allow me to save a lot of money.
On the other hand, if the price difference between the GTX 460 FTW and the GTX 560 FTW is only 30-50$, then I will go with the newer generation. Also, if the 560 FTW is a WAY better card, then I might choose to go with it. But if the performance difference is of only 10%, and the price difference is over 100$, I'll stick with the older generation. It will depend on what reviewers will say about it !!!

Simply this thread is kind of useless now, ur idea is dependent on wat the prices are later on which we cant predict now and we also cant predict how much better will be the next gen components so dont waste ur time on thinking about it from now.

Peace !!

The reason I started this thread is to know if, as of now, there would be better components I could have. For example, would you recommend the H70 ? or would you go with the H50 ? Is the 460 FTW EE worth the money, or should I go with the regular 460 and overclock it myself. This is the kind of advice I'm looking for.
