Hello,
I just got a used motherboard (Gigabyte GA-K8NSC-939). When I tried to test it, the board gives one short beep like the POST was successful, but nothing appears on the screen. When I remove components like the RAM or video card, the beeps change accordingly.

Specs of system under test:

Athlon 64 3800+ Newcastle
Gigabyte GA-K8NSC-939
2x512MB Hynix DDR400
NVidia Geforce FX 5500 256MB PCI
300 watt HP OEM ATX12V supply

Thanks for your help. I know this is old. :p

Solution

If the PSU is working properly and the board isn't defective, the various voltages should all be withing required specs for any model board. Sorry, that's all the help I can think of...

I don't have any brand new CMOS batteries on hand, so I tried a battery from a known working board, still no video. Could one board be more sensitive to low voltage than another?
