Used 5770s and some new 5770s after rebate costs around $125.

Otherwise your best bet is to get a new 5750, a used GTX260 or used 4870 or used 4890.

Try your best to get a deal on the 5770, they are a great card if you can find them for $125.

It's also nice to have new as you don't know what someone has done to the card in the past. Eg. Overclock until overheat/artifacts.

125$ for a 5770 in India? I would say that would be hard to find new...

GTX260s and 4870s go for under $125.

If he can't find a 5770 for $125, then a GTX260 or 4870 is his best bet. They perform the same, and the only disadvantage is they lack dx11.

You can find HD5770 for around 8600 INR, i.e., something around $195. Mention your budget in INR so that we can help.

Edit: I see that you have mentioned your budget. Around 7000 INR, you would find the
HD5750, GTS250, GTX260, HD4870. But again, HD4870 would be hard to find.

While the HD 5750 and, if you are lucky, the HD 5770 can be onsale with a mail-in rebate in the US (Newegg.com), I am pretty sure the prices in India are pretty different.

vada, there must be some type of search engine you can use (like Google) to find video card prices in India.

Unless the case is meant for smaller psu's, which this one looks like.
The real small ones are max of what, 400-50w?

can always screw the psu to the top or side of the case and drill a hole for the wires.

Guys -- Remember he said "i can get stuff from the states so it dosent matter where i got to get the card from" -- so he has friends in the states that can get the card for him so US websites are fine !! -- thus a 5770 like this HIS for $119 after $20 MIR is within the budget !

Also If you have an empty drive bay then for another $20 you could add this -- 450W Secondary PSU and have plenty of power for any video card ! (not the best quality unit but should be fine for a 5770 !!)

The ATI 5770 and GTX 260 perform about the same. Sure the 5770 has "DX11", but I can't picture calling the GTX 260 "outdated" while pushing an ATI 5770 at the same time. Performance level is basically the same.

And honestly, I wouldn't buy an ATI 5770 just for the DX11 difference, unless you're playing at a low resolution.

24fps is the movie standard(at least I think it still is)
So you'll be getting around 25-40fps in most games.

How does this work? What does the movie standard have to do with FPS?

"I own several hacksaws, trust me I could make it fit. " -mm

thats what she said

but yea i did a itx build for a media pc where there just wasn't room for a full psu, a hacksaw or in my case a dremel can do wonders for making doom, offset the placemnt back, a few rivets to attach extended bracing and bam full atx psu in itx case of the customer already had :D

Sometimes people don't consider case size when thinking about the future of their pc, you need room for upgrades and such.

Yes, 260 and hd 5770 are almost similar in performance with 5770 being a little better but in india 260 sells for 12,000INR as compared to 5770 which costs 9,000 INR.

Again, he is going to try and get them from the United States. He has connections.

It's a comparison, since the op didn't want a slideshow. Movies run at around 24fps so if he can bare with watching movies then he should be fine playing at 25-30fps with higher settings.
