"Nused" computer for the fiance

I'm planning to build myself a new system (I'm waiting for sandy bridge) And plan to replace my fiance's current system with my current one, with a few improvements.

He current system is an wal-mart purchased EMachines build with an Athlon 64 LE1250, 2 GB of DDR2-800 (I put in a the second stick myself 18 montsh ago), a 160GB HDD (split into 2 80 GB drives), plus an 80GB external USB drive, and using an NForce 6100 on-board GPU connected to a 1440x900 monitor.

Mostly she uses the computer for basic internet tasks, Flash games, youtube, and the like. She likes a few free MMOs as well, but the on board only allows the most basic graphics choices for DDO, LOTRO and various Korean MMOs. And even then 6 FPS is typical.

My current system is listed below, in my signature. But for completion sake:
Intel Core2Duo E8400 @3.0 GHZ, Intel G35 Motherboard, 4 GB of DDR2-800 RAM, Seagate 7200.11 model 500GB Hard drive, 2 DVD drives (one player, 1 burner), and a HD4850 512 MB video card.

I'm looking at replacing the HDD and GPU as part of giving her the system. I'm going to be buying the 3-license Family pack for windows 7, as its MUCH cheaper than buying 2 OEM packs ($129.99 for 3 licenses), so I'm debating: a small (40 GB?) SSD and keep the 500 GB as a data drive or get a 1 TB drive? and maybe a GTS 450 graphics card, possibly a 5770.

What are your thoughts on a $200-250 improvement, assuming the CPU/Mobo/RAM is the same, given her uses?

yeah a small SSD, maybe get another HDD and do RAID?
For the SSD, I'd look at a Intel X25-V(they seem a bit slow[for ssds..] but pretty cheap, plus right now I think they come with a free game.....)...

why not wait on the GPU for the lower end 6000 series?
