Connect windows 7 to wireless router

i have just set up virgin media and i am having problems connecting to windows 7 on my note book, i have a virgin media hub modelNETGEAR if that is any help, all i want is toset up a wirelesss connection

Netgear make a lot of different models. Let's assume though that it's wireless and that you have wireless on your notebook.

Have you turned on the wireless on the notebook ?

Have you tried connecting the notebook to the router by ethernet cable ? When you do, can you get on the internet ?
