Hey guys im looking for some advice on the cpu's above I can decide between 650 or 760 im running a e8400 at the moment I notice the 650 has turbo boost tech and hyper threading where the 760 does not but has more cache?
I work at a retail store so the price isnt a big deal but it is quite hard to find some 1156 socket cpu's at the moment due to the 1155 fiasco.

More about : e8400 650 760

The 650 has 2 cores(4 threads) but the 760 has 4 physical cores (which is better). If your main purpose is gaming then 760 will be a better option as it will handle the latest and yet to come games better. if its just browsing and stuff like that 650 wins, hell the E8400 is good enough.

Why don't you go for an 1155 board itself? MSI has fixed the chipset issue and 1155 is also Ivy Bridge compatible.

I agree.

The new i3-2100(1155) games just as well as the quad-core i5 760(1156), and will be a hell of a lot cheaper. Then in the future when you want to upgrade, you won't have to change sockets, you can just jump to the i7 2600K, which is arguably the best gaming CPU that you can buy right now.

the E8400 is still a solid gaming CPU, you can probably wait to see if i3-2100 prices drop after the new AMD cpus come out.
