You need to rename them and move them to the proper directories.
The cache.ini file in your cache directory will give you the names.

IIRC there are some utilities that automate this process.

i use: ut cache organizer, works very well

i dont use anything, i just use the cache and i have modified the chache
purge to 999
all the maps and utcomps and all the antittc move to a newer version that
you have to download anyway.
When the game reaches 9-10gb, i just empty the whole cache. Why keep old
maps, never to be played again on any server, just to keep up space on my
hdd?
this way i keep the game clean, i just save the ini files and thats it.

there are only so many maps you can download again. on broadband is piece of
cake.
