Good graphics card for 1024x768

i need a good graphics card that runs most games on high with a 1024x768 res my budget is round 250 thanks

An HD 5770 sounds about right for you. Make sure you have a decent power supply though. Here's one for $140($120 after mail-in rebate).

GTS250 or HD4850 is enough to maxed out everything at 1024x768.

$250 is way too much to spend on a card for that resolution. The most you should be considering is an HD5770 like suggested above and that is actually overkill really. Anything more powerful is pointless unless you are going to upgrade your monitor.
