Advice on new parts

hello everyone,
i have a PC, the mobo and GPU got fried. and i want to replace them. i have an E8400 intel CPU. i just want some directions in where to start my search since i have been away from the computer parts market for 3 years.

The motherboard will have to be an Intel Socket 775 motherboard.

The specific motherboard and its chipset to be chosen will depend on your graphics card requirements. I.e. will you be using a single graphics card only or two ATI/AMD GPU graphics cards in CrossFire mode or two NVIDIA GPU graphics cards in SLI mode?
