Hi,

I have an ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Professional motherboard and it supports crossfire. The guide coming with the motherboard lists which graphics cards in crossfire/SLI it supports. The AMD HD6970 isn't one of them.

However I would like to get me another HD6970 and run them in crossfire. I have a 900W power supply and an extra sideway fan to cool my GPU. Is this possible on my motherboard?

Thanx for your help

My system specs:

Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Professional
Hard disk: OCZ Vertex 90 GB SSD
Samsung HD103SJ HDD
CPU: i7 2600K @4.0 GHz
CPU cooler: Scythe Mugen 3
GPU: Sapphire HD6970
PSU: Antec High Current Gamer HCG-900
Tower: Thermaltake Chaser MK-I

Yes, that'll be fine. Nice build, though I would have gone 2500K.

I found this on the asrock site and the HD 6970 is not in their crossfire support. But how come it does support the nvidia 570 gtx or even the 580 gtx in SLI. And not ATI HD6970 or even the HD6950?

The 6900 series came out a couple of months after the 580; that probably explains it. Email/call ASRock if you're nervous about it.
