Got 8GB DDR3, mobo won't support it, looking for a new one

So as the title says, I purchased 8GB (2 x 4GB) of DDR3, but it turns out my mobo won't support a 4GB stick. The motherboard is LGA775 and the CPU is a Q6600. I know that it's recommended to use a newer socket with DDR3 but at the present time, I do not want to spend very much money, and I know that LGA775 boards are quite cheap.

So, can I get recommendations on LGA775 boards that support 4GB DDR3 sticks? Do they even exist?

Is there some reason you actually need 8 GB. of RAM that would justify the cost of a new mobo?

I have many reasons, yes, but I'm not asking for rhetorical questions, I'm asking for motherboard recommendations. :)
