Hey, I ordered a new motherboard recently, and I was wondering if I have to have a windows disc or something to install the new motherboard with. Or do I just hook everything up and it will work? I'm still using the same hardrive, the only thing new is my motherboard. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Depends on your old motherboard chipset; if it's similar to the new one, windows might install a few new devices and require 2-3 reboots, but have the disk handy. If your old motherboard is hp, dell, etc and you change to a non dell, etc. then the answer is no. You'll need a new windows coa number.

You're moving from an NVIDIA MCP 61 chipset motherboard to an AMD 770 chipset motherboard so the change is major that just plugging everything up and expecting it to work is unrealistic.

You can try it but expect some errors to occur.
