Guys, I am facing a very problem with my PC's motherboard. To begin with..

1- It keeps dying again and again (I had to replace it thrice in past 7 months),
2- Always gives CMOS Date time error at the boot for around 1week before dying  .
My system configuration is.

Motherboard: Biostar TA790GX 128M
processor : Phenom 555 BE
Graphic Card : MSI R6850-PM2D1GD5/OC
Memory : Kingston DDR3 1333 2 GB *2
PSU : Coolermaster eXtreme Power Plus 600W
Case : Coolermater Elite 335

No other performance problem, just one fine day CMOS Date time not set error starts coming, and within 2 weeks :fou: my system converts into a very costly foot rest. For more information, you can refer to this thread http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/309826-28-system-biostar-ta790gx-wont-boot

My first guess is the PSU has an issue and has probably too much voltage ripple that is slowly damaging your parts (mainly the mobo). I would try a different PSU and see what kind of results you have, especially if you can borrow one from a friend or if you have a better one available to you.

Yes MSI 6850. Will test the PSU and report back.

Seems like testing the PSU using a meter be better, considering that it doesnt affect the MoBo immediately and takes around a month before the symptoms become apparent.
