A programmer has unlocked several still-unfinished features of Windows 7 that Microsoft Corp. has hidden from users who received the alpha build at two recent developer conferences....

I found this funny:

Windows 7, which Microsoft has repeatedly said will ship in late 2009 or early 2010, has been branded as "Windows Vista, a lot better," by CEO Steve Ballmer .

:)

the successor to Vista will move into public beta testing early next year.

If I have a lot of time on my hands, I'll go for the BETA. I had VISTA BETA 1 and 2 installed before release. Ha, I had VISTA BETA 1 on a socket 462 AMD 3200 and ATI 9200 with 1Gig PC3200. Ran fine. Recently tried a free trial of Windows Home Server. M$ must have been swamped with orders for the free trial. Took several months to get my free trial CD to me. Hey, when Windows 7 comes out you can slipstream me a copy with SP1, ship it to me and I'll let you know which way the wind blow.

I think we all know what the "hidden" features will be.

1. Artificial disabling of traditional formats/schemes to coerce users into using whatever new technology MS is currently infatuated with.

2. Near total lack of functional drivers to prevent users from being able to connect whatever peripherals they currently own, so that they are forced to go out and buy all new everything.

3. Also hidden will be the secret document outlining the MS global hegemony strategy for screwing everybody and making MS and it's fat pig cohorts filthy rich.

Hegemony? Just exactly where do you stand?

Are you a Marxist?

If you are are, you might want to consider anarchy. That's when people like you don't survive.

This is either very stupid or a very good satire of a pathetic PC conspiracy theorist.

Eh, it's bout right...

You may wonder why I'm in the the Windows 7 forum... but Linux FTW!I reckon tho, Windows 7 will just "Windows Vista, now with more DRM! But there's more eye candy!"

Meh, I wouldn't worry about it. Vista drms were thoroughly cracked in the blink of an eye. Now pirates update their copies as genuine OEM builds.
