Hello, I in a twist i don't know if i should get a sound card or 2gb more ram. i only have 1gb of Ram aswell. but if i got a sound card i could play Battlefield bad company 2 (realtek problem right now) but if i get RAM it would help performance in other games? and also will a sound card boost my FPS at all? even like 1 or 2 FPS?

More about : sound card ram

Are u running XP ?,anyway u need more RAM no mater what , then overclock CPU+GPU
Soundcard will not help u in this case as much as the RAM will.U need to have enough just to run the OS alone ,and to play game like that with small resolution and easy detail.

Minimum System Requirements for the game:
OS: Windows XP
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0 GHz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+
Memory: 2 Gb
Hard Drive: 15 Gb free
Video Memory: 256 Mb
Video Card: nVidia GeForce 7800 / ATI Radeon X1900
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 9.0c
Keyboard
Mouse
Recommended System Requirements
OS: Windows Vista/7
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.4 GHz / AMD Phenom II X4 @ 2.4 GHz
Memory: 3 Gb
Hard Drive: 15 Gb free
Video Memory: 512 Mb
Video Card: nVidia GeForce GTX 260 / ATI Radeon HD 4870
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 10

Get more ram..

Yes definitely more ram.
A sound card won't help any as Battlefield bad company 2 is known to have audio issues.
Check out the BBC2 forums for help with audio issues.

Sound cards don't inherently improve FPS. You'd need a card with a hardware audio processor like the Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer to see any improvement in FPS. However, in your case, this improvement would be completely unnoticable due to the lack of ram.
