Ati or Nvidia

Hey guys I have the choice between the Ati 4670 sapphire or the Nvidia 8800 gts by gainward. Witch one is better overall for fps? Also would I run it on a 500W psu? Thanks

So long as it's the 512MB G92 8800GTS then that would be the better card and should run just fine on a 500w PSU.

Even the 320 MB or 640 MB 8800 GTS should be better than the 4670.What do you think mousemonkey?

Yes but... Too old and slower than the G92's by enough of margin to make the extra power required the last straw that breaks the deal. I wouldn't advise a G80 card unless it was free and in mint condition.

I guess you're right.The power consumption of the G80 proved to be its real weakness.

Atchually after much thought I think the Ati 4670 would be the better choice because it's only going to cost me £30 in comparison to £66 for the 8800.

But as the 8800GTS is three tiers above the 4670 I reckon it would be worth the extra 36 quid, if it's a G92 that is.
