Welcome.

Based on my 20+ years of building high end PCs I do not recommend Asus mobos as I find them RAM sensitive and unreliable compared to Gigagbyte mobos which deliver excellent performance and reliability, IME.

I would recommend an AM3+ socket mobo as it will run your X6 1090T just fine, the new FX series CPUs and possibly even the BD upgrade Piledriver core CPUs due in '12.

If you are not planning to run SLI/Crossfire then the 990XA-UD3 should work great. If you're on a tight budget the 970 series will also work.

Make sure that the RAM kit that you purchase is ONE matched, tested 2x 4GB. kit approved for Phenom II CPUs.
