So this is the case Im working with

As you can see, on the top back side there is a large vent that allows for two 120mm fans.

So I have both of the fans, and this may be a silly question but what do you think is the best direction for the air flow for it?

The hot air from the CPU blows onto the right most fan, so I was thinking of having that fan direct air out of the case while the fan nearest the back direct air into the case.

Im probably looking more into it than I should be, but Im just curious as to if there are better placements for fans.

Front should always be intake, anywhere else is exhaust. Keep in mind that if you're looking for stable air pressure inside the case, your intake should be more (not larger) than your exhaust. For example, 120 mm intake and 80 mm exhaust; this would provide stable positive air pressure.

Edit: Forgive me if this sounds redundant, but the reason for using the front as the only intake is because of cool air sinks. This is why the front of the case has a vent at the bottom-to pull the cool air in easier. So you can logically reason that you want the hot air to be sucked out of the case easier, and since hot air rises, exhaust vents are at the top, including the rear (its on the back, but at the top).

Generally, you would want exhaust on the back/top while intakes on the front/bottom.

I would make both exhaust IMO, the meshed front should intake air just fine.
